Interoperability among participants is achieved through a Discovery and Synchronisation Service (DSS), which is a standardised discovery mechanism. The InterUSS open-source Discovery and Synchronisation Service (DSS) supports data exchange among qualified service providers, enabling both remote network identification and strategic conflict detection.
The DSS has the function, within a defined location, to identify a USS with whom the planning USS needs to exchange data, and also to verify that the information exchanged is relevant. The InterUSS platform implements a standard-compliant DSS capability and monitoring tools to validate the service’s implementation.
For Network Remote Identification (Net-RID)
The InterUSS DSS is a complete, fully compliant implementation of the DSS system component required by the ASTM specification for USSPs to provide Net-RID services. A USSP can simply run this software, with little to no software development of their own, to fulfil their obligations with regard to discovery and synchronization when complying with the ASTM remote ID specification.
For Strategic Conflict Detection
The InterUSS DSS allows a USSP to quickly and easily discover other USSPs relevant to conflict detection and synchronise their operational intents in accordance with the ASTM UTM USS Interoperability specification.
