The deployment of operational and demonstration projects using the InterUSS platform solutions has taken place in different parts of the world. Have a look:

Service / Automated Testing
The InterUSS Platform supports the activities of the Swiss U-space Implementation (SUSI) public-private partnership in setting up the services defined in the Regulation (EU) 2021/664 on the regulatory framework for U-space. The U-space regulation will enter into force in January 2023 in the EU Member States.
Two major initiatives are taking place in Switzerland: the implementations of the network remote identification and the UAS flight authorization (strategic conflict detection) services. InterUSS provides tools for collaboration between stakeholders.
SUSI participants use the InterUSS reference implementation of the communication and synchronization protocols defined in ASTM standards to exchange data between themselves, for instance the position of drones or flight plans. In addition, the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation plans to leverage the automated testing capabilities offered by InterUSS to certify and oversee U-space service providers. The platform facilitates the switch from manual to automated onboarding of service providers and enables the continuous surveillance of service performances, in compliance with the law.

Discovery and Synchronization Service (DSS)
In the United Kingdom’s Connected Places Catapult, the Discovery and Synchronization Service (DSS) is an enabling service that supports data exchange between qualified UAS Service Suppliers (USSs). The DSS performs a critical function within the interoperability paradigm established by ASTM Remote ID and USS Interoperability Standards. The discovery and sharing of information is essential to the safe and timely delivery of UTM and U-space services in a connected airspace environment.
The DSS used in the United Kingdom is an open-source, standards compliant implementation developed by the InterUSS Project as part of the Linux Foundation.
As part of Connected Places Catapult, the DSS enabled real-time data exchange among a number of peer USSs and airspace authorities. One or multiple DSS were used in support of Remote ID and Strategic Conflict Detection services to support routine and off-nominal operations for the safe operation of aircraft in an integrated airspace environment.

Discovery and Synchronization Service
The UTM Pilot Programs in the United States were administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to trial emerging UTM techniques and capabilities.
In UTM Pilot Program 2 and the UTM Field Trials, industry participants leveraged the Discovery and Synchronization Service implementation of the InterUSS Project.
During demonstrations with the Virginia Tech Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership (VT MAAP), multiple instances of the InterUSS DSS were deployed and “pooled” in line with ASTM Remote ID specifications. The redundancy was supported not only by different industry actors, but across different internet hosts.
The DSS instances were unified to present a common experience across all USS actors and authorities and supported a variety of emerging aircraft operations and use cases.
In the current North Texas Industry Shared Airspace Implementation, industry participants are using the InterUSS DSS as well as automated testing to operationalize strategic conflict deflection.
